A wider edge to cross
The 5.2-inch base moves the edge the drink would have to tip over much farther out. The whole thing has to lean much farther before it goes over than the glass does on its own.

—Will it fit what you drink
The hard one first: a mug with a handle does not fit.
The honest no. A handled mug does not seat — the handle lands exactly where the fins need to grip, so it perches instead of settling. If your coffee lives in a handled mug, this is not the product for that cup. A lidded travel mug without a handle, a glass, a tumbler or a can all seat fine.
Containers are physical truth; drink names are aliases for them.

OMG!!!!! Is this a medical device?
No. It is a cup holder. It is not a medical device, not a mobility aid, not adaptive equipment, and it is not sold through any medical channel. We do not make health claims about it and you should be suspicious of anyone selling you a piece of rubber who does.
Will it stop my drink shaking while I hold it?
No. Nothing about this touches your hand. While the glass is in the air, you and the glass are on your own exactly as before. What changes is what happens when the glass is on the table and something — your reach, your elbow, the dog — catches it.
Is it weighted?
No, and that is a real difference from a lot of the aisle. Weighted cups add mass to damp a hand; this adds width under a glass. If weight is what helps you, a weighted cup is the right buy and this is not.
Will it look like a medical gadget on my table?
It is a matte rubber base in twelve colours. It reads as an object, and the glass on top of it is your own. There is no lid, no spout, no second handle and no branding anyone across the table can read.
Does the 40 oz tumbler fit?
Snug. The Stanley Quencher 40 oz measures 3.1 inches at the base, founder-measured, and the fins flex to 3.15. It seats with a push and holds. Past 3.15 inches nothing goes in.
